Spare Change Drive

We are so grateful for the support and admiration shown to our veteran guests today by our Fox River students, families, and the community as a whole.  We were overwhelmed by all of the donated personal care items for the Union Grove Veterans Home.  Those items made the journey this afternoon with our 7th graders proudly pitching in, sorting, carrying and loading.  It was awe inspiring to see.

For the past 15+ years FRMS students and their families raised money for the “Honor Flight Project”. This year we have shifted our focus and in relation to our “Hometown Heroes” theme.  We will be supporting the CAMP HOMETOWN HEROES Organization. This camp is located in Wisconsin where kids who have suffered the trauma of losing a military parent are able to come to camp free of charge!  It costs roughly $2,700 for a week of camp per child at Camp Hometown Heroes. This includes all room and board, food, activities, flight costs, trauma-informed care, supplies and so much more!

Please help us support CAMP HOMETOWN HEROES.  Beginning Monday 11/6 and running through Friday 11/10 we will have a spare change drive.  All money raised will go to this organization.  We have already raised over $400 from donations collected for our activity night.  Let’s keep the spirit going!

We will also collect funds in the Fox River Office.  Checks should be made payable to Camp Hometown Heroes.  You can reference that it's related to the Fox River Middle School fundraiser on the notation line.  Donations are tax deductible.

Thank-you again for your generosity and making this a positive experience for our students.
