Summer Reading Program 2017

Build a Better World at Waterford Public Library

The Summer Reading Program registration begins on Friday, June 9.  Registration will continue throughout the month of June.  Please watch our website for more details.  Watch the library’s online calendar for class information.

Volunteer Luncheon 

Friday, June 9 at 12:00pm Tweens and teens ages 12 and up interested in volunteering this summer are encouraged to attend this event.  Details about volunteer opportunities, expectations, and sign-up sheets will be available. All teens who attend will be offered lunch, a chance to meet the other volunteers, and have their questions answered.  Registration required.  Register online, in person, or by phone.

Beach Party

Monday, June 12 at 10:00am

Celebrate the love of reading & summer at our beach party! Children will participate in a story time themed around fun in the sun, with a coastal craft to follow. All children in attendance will receive a free book to enjoy, compliments of United Way. Grab your flip flops and favorite beach hat; you won’t want to miss this!

It’s Book Time with Ronald McDonald

Thursday, June 15 at 10:00am

A mix of magic, music, and comedy reinforce the idea that reading is fun.  Appropriate for all ages.

Music Makes My Day Monday, June 19 at 10:00am Ms. Linda from Love, Inc. will host an interactive playtime with songs including blowing bubbles, dancing with stuffed animals, shakers, scarves, spoons and more. It ends with a rocking or resting time.

Summer Make-It, Take-It Tuesdays

June 20 & 27, 9:30am – 7:30pm

Stop in to make a craft to take home. Appropriate for ages 4 – 8. Each date will have a different craft to create.

Harry Potter Celebration

Thursday, June 22 at 2:00pm

Join us for a spell-tacular event to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the publication of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. Games, crafts, and snacks will complete this event. Perfect for wizards and muggles alike.  Appropriate for ages 10 and up.

Free Movie Friday

Friday, June 23 at 10:00am Join us for a family-friendly movie event. Popcorn and soda will be provided courtesy of Friends of the Library. Movie title to be announced.

Block Party

Monday, June 26 at 10:00am

The University of Wisconsin-Extension and the Waterford Library welcomes you and your child to a block party!  Blocks are a tool for learning math, science, pre-reading, social, and physical skills.  Adults can guide children’s early learning experiences and use blocks as the tools to support their development.  Join us for this fun and educational play experience.
