Meet Mrs. Alicia Burton, Principal Secretary at Woodfield Elementary.
Hi! I’m Alicia Burton, secretary for Woodfield Elementary! This is my 5th year working in the Woodfield Office and my 10th year total working in the Waterford Graded School District. I live in Rochester with my husband, 4 kids, and 3 rescue dogs. I love to travel with the beach being my happy place. I enjoy remodeling our home, diy furniture projects, cooking, and watching my kids do their favorite activities. And of course I’m a Wisconsin sports enthusiast! Looking forward to a great school year!

The Waterford Graded School District would like to welcome Mrs. Lisa Klass. Mrs. Klass is the principal's secretary at Fox River Middle School. Read more about Mrs. Klass below.
Although this is my first year as Principal's Secretary, I have been serving Fox River Middle School students (literally) for the past four and a half years as the Lead of the Fox River dining staff. I am very excited to be transitioning to this new position! I have been taken aback by the welcoming reception I have received by both Fox River staff and parents.
Our family moved to Waterford nearly six years ago and we absolutely love it here. I am still amazed by the sight of the Sandhill Cranes walking through a farmer's field or the Great Blue Herons flying overhead like Pteranodons. Listening to the frogs croak back and forth is my favorite way to fall asleep. This is truly an amazing area.
I have been married for 30 years and have three grown children. The oldest is a new car dealership manager, the middle is learning the ropes of the family business, and the youngest is in her sophomore year of college studying nursing.
In my spare time I love to travel. My husband and I have a goal of reaching all 50 states. I love a good road trip. Finding the best roadside oddities is my specialty. Who wouldn't pull off the highway to see the 55-foot tall Jolly Green Giant statue!

The 2021-2022 School Year is almost here! Due to movement in secretarial staff we wanted to introduce you to the secretaries in our schools. Today we introduce Mrs. Sue Nicoson, Principal Secretary at Evergreen Elementary.
My name is Sue Nicoson, I have worked as the School Secretary for 3 years. I have lived in Waterford for 25 years with my husband, 2 boys, and our dog Murphy. When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my family, boating, enjoying the outdoors & shopping.

There is free food (breakfast and lunch) for all school aged children west of I94 Racine and Kenosha Counties with no income limits and it can be delivered. WGSD Families,
On Friday afternoon, the Department of Health Services (DHS) released updated post-vaccination guidance for schools.
You can review the article in the attached image.
Starting today, Monday, May 17th, students and staff who are exposed to a probable or positive COVID-19 case, will not need to quarantine if they choose not to if they are not showing symptoms. We ask that you continue to monitor your child for signs and symptoms of COVID-19 for 14 days after exposure. Please refer to the article for complete guidance.
Waterford Graded School District will continue to follow the requirements of masking, social distancing, proper ventilation, and hand hygiene in order to meet the new guidelines by DHS.
These new guidelines support our mission to keep our students in the physical building and engage the students in all areas of academics.
Thank you for your support,
WGSD Administrative Team

Dear WGSD Families,
With the inclement weather forecast for tonight and tomorrow morning, WGSD, as well as Waterford Union High School and the other feeder schools, is planning a virtual instruction day for Tuesday, January 26. The purpose of being virtual for this day is to maintain instructional time in a year where our minutes have already been limited due to the completion of our Fox River construction project and pandemic issues. Students will bring all necessary materials home today. All classes will be following their virtual schedules for the day. Your child’s teacher will be communicating through the virtual hub.
Sincerely,
Ed Brzinski,
District Administrator, WGSD
