Raptor Visitor Management
Raptor Visitor Management
Friday, October 05, 2018

This is a reminder that on October 1, 2018 the Waterford Graded School District began using the Raptor Visitor Management System. This new system is part of the district’s goal in the strategic plan regarding safety for students, staff, and visitors.

As a digital safety solution, the Raptor system will change the way parents/visitors at any of our schools sign in and out when they visit the school and it will help us to keep better track of who is in our building at all times. Upon entering our school building, visitors/volunteers will be asked to present a valid government-issued ID with each visit, which will be scanned into the Raptor
system. This will require all visitors/volunteers, including parents, to bring a driver’s license, or other government-issued photo identification with them when visiting any of our schools. This scanning is quick, easy, and user-friendly. The office staff will be available to assist you through the process. Please note that, for privacy purposes, a copy of your ID is not maintained,
nor is it kept by the school. Since your ID is not saved, you will need to bring it EACH TIME you visit one of our schools.

Once the ID has been scanned and entry is approved, the system will create a unique badge that identifies the visitor, date, and purpose of the visit. Visitors/Volunteers will be required to wear this badge while they are at the school. A visitor’s badge will not be required for those who visit simply to drop off an item in the office, pick up paperwork, or check their student in for the day. However, if parents need to check students out during the school day, they will need to scan their government issued identification when picking up their child.

We welcome your feedback after you have the opportunity to interact with the new system. The safety of the students and staff is the highest priority at the Waterford Graded School District.

Thank you for your cooperation and patience with this new system.
