I would like to introduce myself, my name is Josh Wensing and I am the Director of Buildings and Grounds for the Waterford Graded School District.

Last night, a post was made on social media alleging poor cleaning practices in the cafeteria at Fox River Middle School. The allegation stated that floor mops are also being used to clean table tops after being used to clean the floor. I have reviewed camera footage from the time of this allegation. I can assure you that at no time did a mop touch the floor in any manner and then be used to clean off a table surface.

If you are interested to learn more about our cleaning practices, please use this LINK for a short video demonstration. Our custodial crew thoroughly clean the tables between every lunch using the techniques shown in the video.

Over the past year-and-a-half our custodial staff has been battling Covid-19. On top of their normal routine, they have also taken on thoroughly disinfecting tabletops and high touch points across the buildings on a nightly basis. These extra work assignments are also being done during a national shortage of custodial workers. I hope that everyone can appreciate the great job that they are doing to keep our kids safe during these times!

Next time you see a custodian, please take a moment and thank them for their hard work. They may be behind the scenes, but they truly are front line workers! If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me with the email below.

Have a great weekend,

Josh Wensing
