Beacon of Hope

Day 3 of National School Social Work Week! We asked our school social workers what have they learned from being a school social worker?

Mrs. Rivera-Kloeppel: Everyone has a story no matter their age, gender, background, education or family. Therefore, I have learned to listen more in order to advocate better.

Ms. Francour: Being a school social worker, I have learned that it is important to be empathetic, non judgemental, and  understanding of others' life situations. Understanding first where they are coming from is important in assisting them in the change process.
